Thursday 9th July - Luang Prabang

Before starting on Thursday, just wanted to show some photos of the street food market we went to the night before last.  No complaints about the food at all but way too hot, too crowded and you had to share tables!  With Backpackers!!

We went to Tamarind which had been very highly recommended but we didn't rate at all though i did like the dried water buffalo and the pickled river vegetables.

Anyway, back to today.  Got up at 05:15 - we weren't going to miss the monks a second time.

Stood outside the hotel for 30 minutes and just as we were about to give up they appeared.

I was expecting a cavalcade so this was a bit of a let down.

Today was at leisure for our last day in Luang Prabang so we got some bikes and finally got into the Royal Palace Museum we missed on our first day here.

Unfortunately, no cameras are allowed inside which is a shame as it is very impressive.

The same applies to the exhibition of royal cars.

After that, we spent the day cycling round the town, looking in the shops and at the Mekong River.

High 30's again today so back to the hotel for a swim (sun tan lotion on the camera lens)

Before heading out through the night market (again) to the Blue Lagoon where most of our hotel seemed to be tonight.

Blue Lagoon is Lao-Swiss fusion (!) and it was very good.
