Friday 3rd July - Singapore

Arrived at Changi at 16:30 to 34C and overwhelming humidity.  I was really surprised at how poor the air conditioning is at the airport.  By the time we went to bed at 22:30 I had taken 3 showers.  First impression is Singapore is REALLY CLEAN.  You don't see any litter anywhere, the cars are all gleaming and the roads are immaculate.

Only here for a day and a half so have to crack on with it.  First to see Clarke Quay which is a bit theme park-ish:

Singapore is expensive.  £30 for a pint of beer, a glass of wine and one tomato salad - and the beer was half price (£6.50) as it was happy hour.

The places to eat are the "hawker" centres which are like big food courts where we had two dishes for £8 though have to say that were not up to much.  Have heard great things about the food in Singapore so expecting better tomorrow.

 Writing this at 02:30 and wide awake.  Four hours till breakfast.  It's amazing how quickly we can wreck a hotel room:
